well. i promised an updated tour of my studio
and i finally got it done! whew...
it's a hard room to snap pics of (it's never clean & tidy) and to catch good light at the right time of day is a challenge on this side of my house.
between upstate NY gloomy fall weather and my messy crafting habits
getting those two things to happen at once are like the planets aligning or something
(i don't think the planets really align)
(but in the new Thor movie they do for pretend)
(wait ... do they?)
glad that's taken care of.
i get a lot of questions & emails about this room, and most of them are similar ... but when i originally blogged about it here, things were a bit different and a lot of little changes have happened over the past two years ...
so instead of narrating, i'll just let you enjoy the eye candy without my annoying descriptions of every picture ... and if you have any questions about how we did something or about where i got something, just leave a comment and i'll do my best to answer them throughout the day ... kay?!
so grab a cup a somethin' and stay for a bit puh. lease. thanks :)
(oh, and my hubby's original plans for the big table are here)
most of the artwork & prints you see on my inspiration wall are from
some of my favorite etsy shops ...
this space in our home is a blessing to me ... a gift from my husband really
who has yet to finish the basement or make a place he calls his own,
that we often talk about. he wanted to see my dreams and goals come full circle, and is so supportive of everything i try to accomplish. do i love this room? yeah.
but i love why i have it more. i'm loved by a man God gave to me
and i'm living out my calling for Christ.
that's more joy than a hundred cute craft rooms :)
thanks for stopping by today and remember to leave a comment
if there's somethin' you want to know.
that this room inspires and makes you guys happy is a gift all in itself, i appreciate all of you.
happy new week ♥

DeleteI just want to say that you will never know the impact your blog has had on me. I grew up not really seeing what a house full of décor could look like. To me a couple of prints in a room was all I thought you needed! I then stumbled across your blog, and I have been ever so thankful that I have. Your posts fill me with the desire to create a cute, warm, inviting home for my family and I have learned so much from you! I study your photographs of your house, and while I don't copy your style exactly, it has helped me to learn my style and some things I am able to do to make my house a home. I am still learning and I know I have a long ways to go, but I don't want to look back now! Thank you for all the posts you have wrote.
ReplyDeleteOne last thing, I love the yarn that is in the picture with the washi tape and pencils. May I ask where you scored that at? I also love the idea using the jewelry tower for the scissors!

DeleteI am blessed enough to have a dedicated craft room as well but I can never seem to get everything in it's proper place. Do you organize in zones? Like one area is all sewing supplies, another is all paper crafting supplies...
ReplyDeleteHi April! i try to keep everything in sections, but mostly organize by items... like paper punches are in one bin, adhesives in another, etc ... hope that helps!
DeleteHi Jaime! First off, I want to come live in your craft room - I will clean it for you ;) Second, this may be a silly question but where does one buy 8x10 paper to print prints on?! I have been looking everywhere and I'm thinking it must be an online purchase, but I thought I would ask you since I know you recently sold your artwork on 8x10 paper. Any help would be awesome! :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI want to come and visit this room every day! It is beautiful! I am a big scrapbooker and have a dream in my heart to have a room like this so I can create anything and everything. Thank you SO much for all the inspiration and the simplicity of your beautiful style! I cannot wait to show it to husb and butter him up to help me with my dream! Thanks for your amazing blogging and for sharing your ideas with the world! You are awesome!

ReplyDeletethankyou Laura! the wreath was from joanns this past summer :) have a wonderful Sunday! ♥
ReplyDeleteI have just stumbled across your beautiful blog and it could not come at a better time - we are just in the process of buying a house that needs *everything* doing to it, it hasnt been touched since the 70s and part of our plans is for me to have a dedicated craft room built for me by my fiancee and me as a project together. Your room is stunning but I particularly love the table/island, would it be awfully rude of me to ask how your husband made it for you? ITs a great size to be having craft parties around.
ReplyDeletethanks so much for the sweet comment! the plans for my craft table are at the top of my blog under the "make stuff" tab ... just scroll down to the diy section, and you'll find them there :)
DeleteOH MY WORD......your room is simply stunning...I am still in the process of getting mine all done.....love all the pretty colors....question if I may ask, did you take all of the photos yourself and if so what kind of camera did you use......so awesome, so crisp....hugs
ReplyDeleteJamie -- I am just starting my own blog and have been looking at others for inspiration. Yours is by FAR the best I have found yet! Keep up the great work! I love everything about your blog -- photos, posts, ideas/suggestions....they are all so wonderful!! You are extremely creative.
