an old cheese box with sugars, salt & peppers
my grandma's china ♥
hubby & his dad put a new sink in when they tiled the counters
i spend a lot of time in front of it ... what mom doesn't right?
the little ledge near the windowsill holds herbs,
to do lists & bible passages i'm trying to remember or reflect on
(or flowers the hubs brings me on occasion :)
i wrote about that little ledge here
this is another small curtain rod, hung on the side of the sink area
keeps kitchen towels out of the way (most of the time :)

Your kitchen is beautiful! I have a quick question for you. We are going to be tiling our kitchen countertops - what size tile did you use on yours, and is the grout hard to keep clean? Not too many people have tiled counters, so I haven't had much luck finding any advice.
ReplyDeleteYour Kitchen is just beautiful! You did a wonderful job! I am one of the two lucky winners of your pretty little box full of pretty things. I love them! Thank you so much. Please say a prayer for me, I woke up a week ago to a pinched nerve in my neck that has proceeded to my back and down my left arm and hand. Right now I really cant use my left hand. I had an MRI (had to have a shot of morphine just to get through it and I'm not used to strong drugs so it made me very sick) and it is a severe pinched nerve. I half to have surgery. Pretty scared. Thanks for listening.
ReplyDeletePam
What a space! I'd love to sip a cuppa tea here while you baked cookies. It just seems like that kind of kitchen. Love the open cabinets with all the pretty yet useful stuff inside. I'm too messy to be able to expose all of my stuff like that!!
ReplyDeleteHow delightful!! I love your new pretty kitchen!! And I'm in love with those hanging vintage tea cups!! Ahhh! What a great idea with the curtain rod!! :) Have a happy week! xo Holly
ReplyDeleteI love your wall colors! What are they? The purple and the tan? Also, did you make the knitted wash cloths in the blue bunt cake pan? I love those too, do you have a pattern, and yarn colors? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAnne Leigh
Hi Anne!
Deletethank you! the color in the living room is {Smokey Mauve} & the tan in the kitchen is {Cafe au lait} both by Behr ... the wash cloths are crocheted and the pattern is super simple! the pattern is here: http://bobamom.blogspot.com/2010/02/nubbie-scrubbies-this-pattern-makes.html
hope this helps! ♥ jaime
Thank you! :)
DeleteSuch a beautiful space! I just love your style! I think I am going to have to hang a curtain rod for my teacups asap. Love it! xoxo
ReplyDeleteps. I have a thing for wire baskets too!
Beautiful! You are so gifted.
ReplyDeleteYour make over is just delightful! So light and airy and so efficient! I am going to take your idea of the wire basket for your cook books! Perfect! Mine keep falling over and that will solve the problem!
ReplyDeleteSo happy I found you and I hope you will come follow me, too!

ReplyDeleteThat is fabulous! I love your style! I think the way you removed the cabinet doors on the one section is great! Makes me want to sit in the kitchen, drinking a good cup of coffee while waiting for my cookies to finish! Would love for you to share at the Pomp Party! http://www.createcraftlove.com/2012/09/pomp-party-35.html
ReplyDeleteI love all your vintage touches throughout the kitchen. I'm not sure I could do the open cabinets though - I like to hide my messiness :) Stop by my blog in a few days. I'm doing a post on my home office later this week and it has lots of vintage items in it.
ReplyDeleteI love that yellow pillow on your leather chair. Reminds me of a cozy sweater. The color and button are just perfect! Did u find this piece or make???

Hi Jaime,
ReplyDeleteFound your blog through BHG. Love it! And love your kitchen. Ours really needs some updating. How were you able to get the shabby chic look on the cabinets? Thanks for the inspiration!
thank you Erin! we used Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations kit from Home Depot, inside the kit is a glaze that you can put over the paint to "antique" it ... hope that helps! ♥ jaime
DeleteIt's my first time visiting your blog...what I luv about your blog is the special and clean touch that you have for details in decorating....it's not my particular style but you are so creative and resourceful that anyone can learn from you and you can tell that if we visited your home we would feel special and well cared for...May the Lord richly bless you and your family and keep you safe in His will for 2013~Jenny Arzola at Yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteso glad you're here! and thank you for the sweet comment Jenny! ♥
DeleteYour style is so fabulous! I love the peaks of your home you share on IG so I had to hop over and see more! :)
ReplyDeleteWhere did you buy or find your wooden lazy susan? I'm looking for one to put on the dining room table to hold a pouch that holds my DH diabetic testing supplies. Then there is the monthly calendar that we NEED badly. DH must look at it umpteen times a day (or hour). BS testing record book, and S&P shakers. I keep the diabetic testing supplies in a plastic pencil pouch..fits perfectly. I need to find a smaller monthly calendar instead of the 8 1/2 x 11in. We need to keep them on table so we don't forget. I'm thinking for two people now days and some days it gets very stressful.
ReplyDeleteare those crocheted dish cloths in the light blue bundt pan? What pattern are they? I would like to make some!!!
ReplyDeleteI found the crochet pattern for the dish cloths!! Love them :-)
ReplyDeletevery very neat I like your home :-)
